4/24/2023 0 Comments Grim dawn map 3d viewUltima VIII and IX are both terrible, and really not worth playing. but it just never came to be so all thats left is an intriguing and mysterious placeholder area stashed away in the game. The expansion was going to delve more into the Titans, in particular Lithos the Titan of Earth and his realm of the dead in this case. Had things gone differently that area was supposed to be hinted at and was going to have a way to "open the cliff face" to expose your way into the cave. While that area can be gotten to if you know about it or you force you way into ever possible cliff face it wasn't an area that players were intended to really find. It's possible through cheating to get past the door but you just end up outside the games level area. Inside is a wide open cave with some various things and it ends in an enormous door that is locked. In the one mountain area you can get inside of a hidden cave in the side of a cliff. The Ultima series was huge in its time and Pagan had areas built into it that were going to lead to new areas when the expansions came out.but plans fell through. The game Ultima 8 : Pagan, which might still be available completely free on Origin currently so go grab it as its a nice game, is a great example of this. Its much like how books and movies will leave various questions unanswered, plot holes left unfilled, end on a cliffhanger, or do the horror movie thing and show that "they aren't all gone" kinda thing just to ensure that if they ever want to they can pick up and go from there for more content. Its not uncommon in game development for there to be areas purposely created so that they can be expanded into down the road. It's also quite possible that it is literally just a placeholder area in that its a space set aside so that it can be expanded into down the road as part of an expansion, update, faction quest, secret area, etc. It may have at one point been a place that was going to be made into a side area or just an area for more free roaming in the marshes, but plans changed and it didn't get worked on so its left as a holdover relic from older design ideas. I'd say that area, and the troll, are a placeholder. Its blocked by a boulder though and there didn't seem to be any ways to glitch past it. I was able to get my guy to glitch a bit off the broken part into the water but he was still trapped by the invisible wall.įollowing the water towards the southeast there is a small landbridge that goes over into that same area. I found that broken bridge that was being talked about and it certainly connects to that area although I was unable to glitch my way across at all. I don't recall having seen that troll name anywhere else in the game that trolls are present so I'm assuming its only in that area. In my case it was a level 19 "Eastmire Troll" which makes sense since that location would be the eastern parts of the Wightmire swamp. The only thing I was able to see was a single troll. Unlike the other place mentioned above I didn't see any lootable objects or anything like that. I see nothing indicating that the area can be reached at all. I decided to head out to Hallowed Hill and take a look at that place with the troll. Originally posted by KidsLoveSatan:Another area, south east of Hallowed Hill, I can see trolls but don't know how to get there. although it seems you can loot the stuff if you really want to. Based on that I'm guessing that you can't actually get down there. The way its behaving though is similar to when items fall outside the map boundaries or way down off a bridge where as long as you can click the name you can still pick them up. I was hoping that by click on something down there I could see where the pathfinding tried to take me to get to the stuff. When I click the dropped loot my guy will run as close to it as he can, in this case at the edge of the water about a half a screen away, and pick up the item despite being far away from it. I found that I can loot the corpses and rocks down there from quite a ways off.ĭespite the lootable objects being about half a screen away I'm able to click on them and make their loot drop. I haven't found a way into that place, but while looking around it. anyone figured it out? There must be a hidden wall or something to this areas. I can see lot of treasures and monsters in that 2 Areas but never managed to get there. Did anyone figured out how to get into this areas I marked red on the Map? I don't mean the passageway to Hollowed Hill, as you can see on the Map I already discovered that area, I mean the very close area exactly marked on the map (between Burrwitch Village / Burrwitch Estates / Hollowed Hill).
